Elson Kung - Director, Board of Directors

Elson Kung is a governance, risk and compliance practitioner at HSBC Bank. He helps leaders to recognize, reduce, and avoid risk. Before this, he worked in sales, business analysis, IT project management, and cyber security. He is a University of British Columbia graduate and holds professional designations in information systems audit and project management (CISA, PMP).

Elson is passionate about giving back. Tapping into his expertise, he volunteers at the Provincial Security Advisory Council (PSAC) of BC, ISACA, and Toastmasters. At the PSAC, he contributes to improving the information security of the province. At ISACA, he supported the award-winning SheLeadsTech initiative as chapter president. For his Toastmasters club, he obtained continuous funding during his first presidential tenure. Aside from his professional volunteering, he also helps prepare healthy meals at Salvation Army Belkin House. Here, residents develop their faith, skills, and confidence to stay off the streets.

In his free time, Elson enjoys running, cycling, hiking, reading, cooking, and learning to be more sustainable. He devotes time to spend with friends and family including his partner and two children.
