Get to Know Brenna

Brenna’s gentle presence provides a caring, non-judgmental space for you to be heard, accepted, understood, and honoured in the process of change.

On her own healing journey over the years, Brenna understands creating safety is a foundation for healing and transformation.

Education and Training

Brenna’s approach to individual and couples counselling includes emotion-focused therapy. EFT can help individuals heal from tender, more painful experiences. This approach creates a safe and supportive environment for individuals and couples to explore, identify, and work through stuck points, or negative cycles and strengthen relationship with oneself and others. Therapy can support people who may be impacted by trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, or other difficulties.

Brenna is also trained to work from a family systems approach. She holds a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western University. Brenna welcomes families and couples in all stages of life. Whether it is relationship repair, re-structuring, or rebuilding - Brenna will come alongside to help you identify the changes desired and support your process towards this vision.

Family therapy may include parents, couples, children and youth, adult relationships, children in care, guardians, or blended families. Therapeutic support may be a soft landing space to rest, create safety, and find strength again during difficult life transitions, illness, addictions, trauma, or loss.

Brenna's Background

Brenna is First Nations, from the Nisga’a Nation. While the history of Indigenous people across turtle island is heartbreaking, Brenna is open to witness, learn from, and treasure the stories of resilience, and strength in Indigenous community.

Brenna also holds a Masters in Leadership for non-profit organizations. She has over 15 years of experience developing innovative programs and services across the province for children, youth, adults, elders, and families. This includes pioneering the development of culturally safe and trauma-informed group therapy to support inter-generational healing, residential school survivors, recovery and addictions, grief and loss, and healing trauma.

Brenna provides educational, training and development, and community based workshops. These are designed unique to community needs to support mental health, First Nations leadership development, youth development, personal and organizational health and wellness, and reconciliation across cultures.
