Get to Know Janice

Janice believes therapy is not about fixing, but about creating a safe space where growth is nurtured through authentic relationship, co-regulation, and compassionate witnessing. She often uses the image of a tree to describe this process: with safety and support, we can deepen our roots, strengthen our trunk, and grow in new directions—even after storms.

Children, Youth & Families

Janice integrates play, creativity, and connection to support growth. Whether through toys, art, or conversation, she offers a safe and attuned space where children and teens can explore their feelings, identity, and experiences. She also partners with parents and caregivers to strengthen family bonds and nurture resilience at home.

Adults

Drawing from Internal Family Systems, Satir, Narrative Therapy, and systemic family dynamics, Janice supports adults in exploring their inner world with compassion. She helps clients reconnect with their inner child, make sense of past pain, and bring healing to hidden places.

Core Values

  • Authenticity – Healing happens when we can be real, even when it’s messy.
  • Growth in Relationships – Change is rooted in connection—with ourselves and others.
  • Play & Creativity – Healing often comes through play, art, and expression beyond words.
  • Compassionate Witnessing – Every part of a person is worthy of being seen with care.
  • Neurodiversity-Affirming – There’s no one “right way” to think, feel, or grow.
  • Inclusion – All aspects of identity are welcomed and valued.

Janice is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with BCACC, a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with CCPA, a BC Registered Play Therapist with BCPTA, a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, and an AutPlay Therapy Provider. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western University.

As Carl Jung said, “The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” Starting therapy takes courage. It involves stepping into vulnerability and making space for change. It’s an honour for me to walk with you on this journey—one imperfect human with another—toward a deeper connection with yourself and with those around you.
