Get to Know Jake

Jake cares about making sure that people feel seen and understood, and when that happens healing can begin. He is passionate about creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to share what is on their hearts and explore their stories at their own pace. In his work, he walks alongside clients, noticing the strength and resilience they may not yet recognize in themselves, and helping them navigate life’s challenges with care, connection, and hope.

Education, Focus Areas, and Modalities

Jake is currently completing his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trinity Western University. He works from a family systems perspective and is trained in Emotionally Focused therapy (EFT) and Satir Model of Therapy. He also has a particular interest in Narrative Therapy, appreciating its focus on supporting clients in retelling their stories through a strength-based and empowering lens.

Jake has experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. He is drawn to working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, loss and grief, school-related challenges, addiction, trauma, and stress. He is also passionate about walking alongside youth experiencing instability or housing insecurity, and young adults navigating life transitions. His approach is collaborative, client-led, and trauma-informed, creating a warm space where clients can be seen, feel cared for, and explore their stories at their own pace.

Jake's Background

Jake is originally from Kingston, Ontario, and has experience living in various provinces and territories in Canada. In his spare time, he enjoys painting models, watching movies, and getting lost in a fantasy book. He values community, laughter, curiosity, and humility, and often brings these qualities into his work with clients.
